Mini Vacation | Charleston, SC

My husband and I piggy backed a mini vacation onto a business trip he had to take back in November.  I have been wanting to go to Charleston, SC for many years and we finally did it!  It was relaxing and romantic, a perfect time to breathe, dream and get excited for life again! It is easy to forget how important it is for a couple to take time away to recharge.

I was so amazed and inspired by the architecture in Charleston. We, like many visitors, enjoyed walking around the neighborhoods gawking at the huge houses. We got to see some dolphins playing near Battery Park and had dessert and coffee at Kaminsky’s.  {I did not eat a quarter of a pecan pie for supper,well ok I did and it was delicious}

I love visiting places with sand & palm trees but there is always one thing I forget about locations that have the sun and sand:  curly hair + humidity = total frizz head! I would do my hair and have it looking great, walk out the door and within minutes it looked like I just woke up from a night of tossing and tuning!  I’m not sure what I would do if we ever move to a high humidity location!

We stayed the first night about an hour north of Charleston for my husband’s meeting and we took a walk on an old closed bridge.  It was completely deserted and kind of eerie.Glimpse-PhotographyGlimpse-Photography

There were feral cats all around the bridge, people fish off the bridge all the time so I assume they get fed fresh fish often.

Two gentleman stopped and offered to take a photo of us. When we thanked them, one said he loved taking photos of beautiful young people.  How flattering! Winking smile  too bad I was thinking “hold the camera still!” the whole time!

The moon was so bright that we kept trying to include it in our shots. What a romantic evening!
