Happy Friday everyone!!! I’m so excited to share this post with you today! I’ve been waiting several weeks to get this out. 🙂
Several years ago I ran into Anna at the farmer’s market. She was on her bike pulling along her two small children. We recognized each other from college. Which seems like a lifetime ago! I ended up giving her my card because our conversation naturally went to adoption since we both had adopted children. I am a photographer for Red Thread Sessions, which celebrates adoption through photography. Recently Anna called me to schedule a session!
Their youngest joined their family this past year and now was a perfect time to have a portrait made. Ben owns a bicycle repair business in Harrisonburg, Wyse cycles, so it was a no brainer to include a bicycle in their family portraits. I was so excited to have a cool prop like this tandem red bicycle!
Their children were so sweet and I really enjoyed them. The children had their faces painted earlier in the day and we decided the snake needed to stay to keep the peace! Half way through the session we took a break to see the cow being milked. (which isn’t a normal occurrence for my clients!) After the session, they jumped on the trampoline and I painted a butterfly and a bat on their little girl’s face. (Hopefully she wasn’t too disappointed with my lack of ability!) We chatted for a long time about adoption and how we can make a difference in our community. I love talking with people who share the same passions that I do. Thanks Anna and Ben for hearing God’s heart and making adoption a normal part of life.
Don’t forget to check out Ben’s bicycle business, it is quite the unique business!
