Ashley and Justin’s backyard wedding at the bride’s home in Ohio was elegant, romantic and sweet. Ashley is my brother’s oldest daughter of six and I can still remember holding Ashley when she was first born….shows my age a bit! I will never forget the time I made her so upset by laughing at something cute she did. We were at my other brother’s wedding, she was about three & was dressed up adorably. However, I learned that laughing at her cuteness was not an option! oops, sorry Ash!!! I hope these photos will be a peace offering!
You will see how beautiful this family is (I’m a bit partial) and I knew a wedding at their home would be exquisite. My brother is terribly talented with his hands, like my dad, and my sister in law is profusely creative. There were so many details that made the day special.
And these were just a few of the DIY things from this wedding. Don’t you just love seeing creative people put together their talents and come up with something so incredible?!
Another plus for me was that my husband was my second photographer. 🙂 We also had the privilege of working with Daniel Carr as our third photographer. Daniel has known the bride and groom for quite some time and it was fun to work with him. He met up with the guys and got some getting ready photos.
When I shot with film my favorite film was Kodak Portra NC (huge Kodak fan, love their photo papers too). That film quality and look is something I’ve missed switching to digital. I have been messing around with my developing process to see if I can find a way to get the colors, saturation, grain and feel of Portra and I think I may have gotten it! So Ashley and Justin’s wedding was perfect to try it out on. The lighting and setting is really perfect for this too.
I am so pleased to share these memories with my niece, her new husband, their families and with all of you. I hope you enjoy!
